Synopsis

The PAYM Policy Forum Series is an initiative aimed at extending PAYM and its YECs' outreach to young working adults. Policy Forums serve as platforms through which working youths could come together to gain a better understanding of current affairs and policies that tugs directly at the heartstrings of the Singaporean community, as well as to air their views on these issues. Come Saturday 21 March 2009 - the Tanjong Pagar GRC YECs will be bringing to you yet another sizzling topic for discussion at our next instalment of Youth Policy Forum:

Media Freedom in Singapore - Fact or Fiction?

Singapore, a developed city-state with a highly open economy, boasts of a respectable GNP and other development indicators. However, the highly efficient island economy has often come under scrutiny from international bodies (e.g. "Freedom House", "Reporters Without Border") for the perceived lack in the media freedom department.

Just how much do you agree with such claims? Do you feel that your interests are best represented? Is media freedom really an elusive object of desire for the Singapore community? Or do we, in Singapore, have a valid media model that is perhaps worth emulating by the rest of the world?

Agree or not, we want to hear your views! So, hesitate no more, sign up now to join us at our Policy Forum!
